Creation is fluid, it is dependant on the interaction between environment, experiences, thoughts, how and what, and anything else flowing through our minds.
It is about imagination.
The idea of imagination links directly into the heart of what I do. The manner of looking at everything and anything. Consciously and unconsciously. Taking in all that surrounds us, viewing it in its truest form and allowing the mind to process it and the emotions our surroundings evoke.
Innovation through imagination forms from the ever-changing ways of engagement. Free from rules one is able to follow where the mind takes them and to move through an individual process of experience and understanding. As either a creator and/or a viewer one is able to individually understand and experience a piece of work.
Imagine. Engage. Create.
Whilst an exploration of creation throughout history and cultures influences me at different stages of my work, narrowing down a specific influence is all but impossible.
My surroundings and the way my imagination interprets it is logged in my memory and at any stage may resurface and merge with other inspirations to generate a new idea, whether that be in a museum of antiquities or a conversation in the street.
All it takes is one little aspect to draw my attention down a pathway. Where it leads could be considered chance. It is through these chance glimpses that my imagination grows.
